A vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing UAV is a UAV that combines fixed-wing and vertical take-off and landing technologies. There are three main technical implementation routes for vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing UAVs: fixed-wing rotor composite type, tilt-powered type and tailstock type. Among them, the fixed-wing rotor hybrid type adds an additional rotor power device on the basis of retaining the original fixed-wing power device, which is equivalent to the UAV equipped with two sets of power devices. In the take-off and landing phase, a rotor device is used to provide lift, and in the cruise phase, a conventional fixed-wing power device is used to fly forward. The tilting power type is to install a tilting rotor or ducted fan on a traditional fixed-wing drone. When the drone takes off or lands, the rotor or ducted fan faces upward to provide the power for the drone to rise vertically. , after reaching a certain height, the rotor or ducted fan tilts, and the drone relies on the fixed wing to provide lift to move forward. The tailstock type is to install a set of vertical take-off and landing devices on each side of the fixed-wing UAV's wings to achieve vertical take-off and landing functions.

Vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing UAVs have broad application prospects. Due to its vertical take-off and landing characteristics, it can be widely used in small space reconnaissance, communication relay, target tracking and other fields. At the same time, its fixed-wing characteristics enable the UAV to have high-speed cruising capabilities and can be used for long-distance patrols, reconnaissance, material transportation and other tasks.
